Carlos Slim is a famous Mexican Business magnate and inventor born on 28 January 1940, In Mexico City, Mexico.

Family Background:

He is the son of Julian Slim Haddad and his wife Linda Helu Atta. His parents were Maronite Catholics from Lebanon. Slim has Five siblings, Whose names are Linda Slim Helu, Jose Slim Helu, Julian Slim Helu, Alma Slim Helu, and  Nour Slim Helu.

Slim married to Soumaya Domit, In 1967. Slim has Six children, Names are Johanna Slim Domit, Vanessa Slim Domit, Soumaya Slim Domit, Patrick Slim Domit, Marco Antonio Slim Domit, and Carlos Slim Domit. In 1999, His wife Somalia died


Slim entered the National Autonomous University of Mexico to earn a degree in Civil engineering. While at school, he taught algebra and linear programming.


After completing his graduation in 1961, He worked as a Stock Trader in Mexico and as soon he started his own business that invested individual business. During the 1970s, His empire established the various companies in various industries such as soft drinks, printing, real estate, and bottling. Later he expanded the business, including the Auto parts, aluminum, airlines, and many others. In the 1990s, Slim had made a large fortune, When Mexico privatized its telecom industry and Grupo Carso acquired Telmex from the Mexican government. He began purchasing large stakes in a number of major US retailers such as Barnes & Noble, OfficeMax, Office Depot, Circuit City, Borders, and CompUSA When Slim became a prominent person within the American business sense by 2003. In March 2012, Slim and American television host Larry King established Ora TV, On-demand digital television networks. In September 2012 Slim had bought a 30 % stake in Pachuca and Leon, Two Mexican soccer teams through his telecommunications company America Movil. On April 23, 2014, Slim had gained control of his first successful European acquisition, ‘Telekom Austria’. On 15 January 2015, He became the largest individual shareholder in The New York Times company. He founded three Non-profit foundations, which names are Fundacion Carlos Slim Helu, Fundación Telmex, and Fundacion del Centro Historico de la Ciudad de Mexico A.C.
