Diego Maradona, Who is an Argentine retired professional footballer born on 30 October 1960, In Argentina.

Family Background:

He is the son of ‘Chitoro’ Diego Maradona and his wife Dalma Salvadora Franco. He has three elder sisters and two younger brothers. His family faced many financial problems.

Personal Life:

On 7 November 1984, He married his longtime fiancee Claudia Villafane. They has two daughters, Dalma Nerea and Giannina Dinorah. The couple divorced in 2004.  Maradona has another son  Diego Fernando with his ex-partner, Veronica Ojeda.


On 20 October 1976 before 10 days of his 16th birthday, He made his first professional debut for Argentinos Juniors. He made his proper International debut on 27, February 1977 against Hungary. In 1982, He had played his first world cup. In 1982, he had played his first World Cup tournament. Despite the champions, Argentina did not give good performance to expectations and had been ousted by the tournament in the second round. He scored 38 goals in 58 games in his two season with Barcelona. After the loss at the World Cup, He had transferred to FC Barcelona in Spain for a world record fee of 5m. Though he had gone on to win the Copa del Rey and Spanish Super Cup for the club, throughout his tenure. Where he suffered from ill-health and injury. During the 1986 FIFA World Cup, He had led Argentina to victory. Throughout the tournament, He had led his team from the front and asserted his dominance in every game, Where he scored 5 goals and made 5 assists and he had played a crucial role in the quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals against England, Belgium, and West Germany Respectively. In 1990 FIFA World Cup, He continued his role as captain of Argentina team and he had led his team to the World Cup finals against the West Germany, but could not win the cup. In 1991, He had received a 15-month suspension after testing positive for using cocaine.  In 1995, He returned to the Boca Juniors for the two years. In 1997, He announced his retirement on the eve of his birthday.
