Donald Tusk is a Polish politician who has been the President of the European Council born on 22 April 1957, In Poland.

Family Background:

He is born to Donald Tusk and Ewa Tusk. His father had worked as a carpenter, while his mother worked as a nurse at a hospital.

Personal Life:

In 1978, He married Małgorzata Sochacka. The couple has two children, a son named Michal and a daughter named Katarzyna.


In 1980, Tusk had started his career on a different route when he established the ‘Independent Students’ Association’. It had been part of the ‘Solidarity’ movement. At the same time, Tusk had started working as a journalist for a newspaper that had been published by the ‘Solidarity’ group. Martial law had been imposed in the country in December 1981, forcing Tusk to go into hiding for a while. Between 1984 -1989, He had worked as a bread-seller. While working as a manual laborer, Tusk had worked as an active member of the ‘Solidarity’ movement, for which he also went to jail. In 1983, Tusk founded a monthly named ‘Political Review’, an illegal periodical that propagated economic liberalism. That periodical had been a major turnover in Tusk’s career, as it led him to become the head of the ‘Liberal Democratic Congress’. In 2007, Tusk had faced a tough campaign and became the prime minister of Poland after winning the ruling rightist person.
