Jim Carrey who is a Canadian – American actor, comedian, screenwriter born on 17 January 1962, In Newmarket, Ontario, Canada.

Family Background:

He is the son of Percy Carrey, a musician and his wife Kathleen Carrey, a homemaker. His mother was of French, Iris and his father was of French-Canadian ancestry. Jim has three siblings, Patricia Carrey Fournier, John Carrey, and Rita Carrey.

Personal LIfe:

He has been married twice. First, he married former actress and comedy store waitress Melissa Womer, On 28 March 1987. They have one daughter Jane Erin Carrey. The couple divorced after eight years of their marriage in 1995. A year later, Carrey married Lauren Holly, On 23 September 1996. But within a short time, they separated. Then he appeared in many relationships with others like Renee Zellweger, Laurie Holden,  Anine Bing, January Jones, and Jenny McCarthy.


He started his schooling at ‘Blessed Trinity Catholic School’ from North York. later he had enrolled ‘Agincourt Collegiate Institute’ Than he went to ‘Northview Heights Secondary School’. when his family moved Burlington, Carrey attended Aldershot High School.


He had started his career by performing at the Yuk Yuks’ comedy club in Toronto, but there he did not receive more popularity. After he got an opportunity to concentrate on his comic act. He had begun perform regularly on stage and earn money. He has also aimed to get employed as an actor in television and movies. After sometimes he tried his luck to appear in “Saturday Night Live”. This film makes Jim as a star. During the same time, He also worked in ‘Dumb and Dumber’, and ‘The Mask’. These two movies are highly appreciated. In 1995, He acted as ‘Two-face and the Riddler’ in the movie “Batman Forever”. He also worked in the “The Cable Guy” movie.This movie was successful on Box-office, and for this movie, he was nominated for the Golden Globe award. In 1999, The movie “Man on the Moon” released, Which was more successful. After success, He appeared in many movies like ‘How the Grinch Stole Christmas’, ‘Bruce Almighty’, ‘Fun with Dick and Jane’, ‘The Number 23’. In 2009, He appeared in the Famous movie ‘I Love You, Phillip Morris’. This movie got many positive reviews for his comic acting.  During 2011-2013, he worked in the movies like ‘Mr. Popper’s Penguins’, ‘Kick-Ass 2’, ‘Dumb and Dumber To’, and ‘Burt Wonderstone’. He had also written a children’s book “How Roland Rolls”.
