Mike Pence is an American politician and lawyer and also serving as the 48th and current vice president of the United States born on June 7, 1959, In Indiana, U.S.

Family Background:

He is the son of Edward J. Pence Jr. who had served in the U.S Army during the Korean War and Nancy Jane. He has five siblings.

Personal Life:

In 1985, He married Karen Pence. They met while He had been in law school at Indiana University. His wife is a former elementary school teacher. The couple has three children.


In 1977, Mike graduated from Columbus North High School. In 1981, He had continued to earn a B.A. in history from Hanover College. Later He had studied law at the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law, receiving his J.D. in 1986.


In 1990, He decided to enter into politics and ran unsuccessfully for a congressional seat but He did not give up though and was able to become the president of the Indiana Policy Review Foundation in 1991. In 1994, He had started his career in talk radio and hosted ‘The Mike Pence Show’, which had been based in WRCR-FM in Rushville. Directed by Network Indiana, The show had been refreshed on weekdays on 18 stations throughout the state. Beginning of 1995, He had hosted a weekend political talk show out of Indianapolis. In 2000, He ran for Congress again, At that time getting elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in Indiana’s 2nd Congressional District. Over the course of his political career, He had been re-elected four more times by comfortable margins. In November 2012, Pence had won the gubernatorial election, beating Democratic nominee John R. Gregg and Libertarian nominee Rupert Boneham. On January 14, 2013, He had been sworn in as the 50th governor of Indiana. As the governor, He earned much reputation for his tax reforms. He had been successful in cutting state taxes and had also reduced the burden of income tax and eliminated the heritage tax. During his term, Indiana’s job growth had staggered slightly behind the national trend and in 2014, Indiana’s economy had been among the slowest-growing in the U.S., with 0.4%GDP growth, compared to the national average of 2.2%. In 2016, Pence had decided to run for a second term as governor in the Indiana gubernatorial election in 2016. But, After Donald Trump chose Pence as his vice presidential running mate, Pence chose to end his gubernatorial campaign.
