Family Background:

He is born to Donna and Kiki Kane. He has three younger sisters.


He had attended the Detroit Country Day School but he had left before graduating.


He has been in love with hockey ever since He was old just to walk and has played as a child playing in the local Buffalo clubs. While He had been growing up, a hockey arena had under construction in his hometown of Buffalo and Patrick practiced hard to polish his game. Before all that, he learned the basics of ice hockey from his father who supported Patrick in every step. He had been performing brilliantly at the junior level year after year and it was apparent that he was to be one of the top choices for the 2007 NHL draft. He was the top-ranked junior among the North American Prospects and got selected as the first overall by the Chicago Blackhawks. On December 15, the Blackhawks had played against the Buffalo Sabres in their home ground and Patrick had been welcomed with applauds despite being in the opponent team. In the 2010 Stanley Cup finals, He had scored the winning goal against the Philadelphia Flyers and got his team its first Stanley Cup in 49 years. On July 2014, Blackhawks management declared that Patrick’s contract had been extended to eight more years. Patrick ended the 2014-15 season as one of the best goal-scorers by the end of the NHL season. Patrick has played for his national American team as a part of their U18 squad during the 2006 IIHF U18 Championship. Later He played for the national U20 team, which won the bronze medal at the 2007 World Juniors. He further represented his team in the 2010 Olympic Games, where he led his team to win a silver medal. He further played for his national team during the 2014 Olympic Games. In June 2018, He had become the recipient of the Calder Memorial Trophy awarded to the best NHL rookie player. With his arrival, the Blackhawks’ game changed drastically as He had gone on scoring a hat-trick against the Vancouver Canucks in the second round of the 2009 playoffs.
