Peter Thiel, who is an American entrepreneur, venture capitalist, philanthropist, political activist, and author born on October 11, 1967, In West Germany.

Family Background:

He is the son of Klaus Friedrich Thiel and Susanne. He has one younger brother, Patrick Michael Thiel.

Personal Life:

In October 2017, He married his longtime partner, Matt Danzeisen in Austria. Thiel is gay. He has supported different gay right causes like ‘GOProud’ and ‘American Foundation for Equal Rights’.


In 1985, He had attended the San Mateo High School where He had been chosen valedictorian of his graduating class. Then he had enrolled at Stanford University to study philosophy. In 1992, He had attended the Stanford Law School and obtained his Doctor of Jurisprudence.


After receiving his J.D. Thiel had started working as a judicial clerk for Judge James Larry Edmondson. Following, He had served international law firm Sullivan and Cromwell in New York as a securities lawyer for around seven months. In 1993, He had begun working with Credit Suisse as a derivatives trader in currency options. Meanwhile, he also worked as a speechwriter for former-U.S. Secretary of Education William Bennett. In 1996, He had returned to California and set-up ‘Thiel Capital Management’. In 1999, Thiel had the goal of creating a digital wallet, which had ultimately led Confinity to start ‘PayPal’. PayPal, Which had supports online money transfer and works as an electronic alternative of the conventional mode of payments, such as cheques and money orders. During the launch of PayPal, Deutsche Bank and Nokia representatives used PayPal on their PalmPilots to sent Thiel $3 million in venture funding. On February 15, 2002, The company had gone public and later in October that year it had been sold to eBay for $1.5 billion. Thiel who had a 3.7% stake in the company passed down as its CEO following the sale. In May 2003, He had co-founded a software company, ‘Palantir Technologies’, Where He serves as  Chairman of the company that is headquartered in Palo Alto, California, and practices in big data analytics. Palantir witnessed a constant rise and had been valued at $20 billion in late 2015. Morgan Stanley valued it at $6 billion in 2018. In July 2005, He had co-founded an investment capital firm, ‘Founders Fund’, based in San Francisco. Thiel had been also a partner at the American seed accelerator ‘Y Combinator’ from 2015 to 2017.
