He is the son of Ranganathan Madhavan, who was management executive at Tata Steel and his wife Saroja, who was a manager in the Bank of India. He has one younger sister Devika, Software engineer.
In 1999, He married Sarita Birje. The couple blessed with one son Vedant Madhavan.
He completed his education by graduating with a degree in electronics. During his college years, He actively involved in extracurricular activities.
