Sheryl Sandberg is an American technology executive, activist, author, and billionaire born on August 28, 1969, In Washington D.C.

Family Background:

She is born to Adele, an ophthalmologist, and Joel Sandberg. She is the oldest of three children of her parents. Her mother is a college teacher.

Personal Life:

In 1993, She married Brian Kraff but they divorced one year later. In 2004, She married Dave Goldberg, Who had been at the time an executive with Yahoo! and later became the CEO of SurveyMonkey. On May 1, 2015, It had been notified that her husband died due to a head injury that he had provided while vacationing in Mexico.


She had enrolled Highland Oaks Middle School in North Miami-Dade and in 10th grade, she had entered North Miami Beach High School, from where She had completed her graduation in 1987 with a 4.646 GPA. In 1991, She had graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in economics from Harvard College.


In 1995-1996, Sheryl Sandberg’s first job had been as a control consultant for McKinsey and Company, which She did for about a year. For the next five years, She had helped Larry Summers, who at the time had been the United States Secretary of the Treasury under President Bill Clinton. In November 2000, and going to Silicon Valley, had Joined Google Inc. From November 2001 to March 2008, She had worked as Google’s Vice President of Global Online Sales and Operations, Managing sales of its broadcasting and Publishing Products, Consumer products and Google Book Search. She had met Mark Zuckerberg, The co-founder, and CEO of Facebook, and had an hour-long discussion after he introduced himself. Sandberg, who wanted a more challenging role, failed to get the responsibility of the COO at Google as the company had already had Schmidt and the two founders, Larry Page, and Sergey Brin, making major judgments. In February 2008, She finally chose to accept Zuckerberg’s offer and left Google despite attempts to convince her to stay. Within two years, She had reached her goal to make Facebook a valuable company by introducing “ads discreetly presented”. In 2012, She had been recruited into Facebook’s committee of directors as the first female member.
