Steve Chen is one of the co-founders of the best video sharing website youtube, born on 18 August 1978, In Taipei, Taiwan.

Family Background:

Steve and his family moved to the United States in 1993 and they settled in Illinois.

Personal Life:

Chen married Park Ji-Hyun, who is now known as Jamie Chen. She is a Product Marketing Manager for Google Korea. They have one son.


He had finished his high school education from ‘Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy’. In 2002, He had completed his graduation with Computer Science degree.


After completing education, he had started work at the Industry financial company, Paypal. At there he had met Chad Hurley and Jawed Karim. After sometimes, Steve had moved from Paypal to Facebook. At Facebook, he worked several months, later he quit a job to find ‘Youtube’. In 2005, Steve and his two friends, Chad Hurley and Jawed Karim founded ‘youtube’. Steve held the chief technology officer post in the beginning. Within months, youtube founder announced that they had to receive around 100 million video views every day, and 65,000 videos had been uploaded per day. In the next year, in 2006, the site was most popular, ranked as top 10 most popular site. They had been sold the company to Google for the $1.65 billion dollars in stock. Later Steve along with Chard and Vijay Karunamurthy started internet company AVOS System Inc. In April 2011, they purchased a ‘Delicious’, from the social marketing site Yahoo. In 2014, Steve joined the ‘Google Ventures’.
