Sundar Pichai, An Indian American Business Executive and new CEO of Google is born on 13 July 1972, in Madurai, Tamil Nadu, India.

Family Background:

His father Raghunath Pichai was the senior engineer in British company General electric company (GEC). His mother Laxmi Pichai was a Stenographer.

Personal Life:

He married his long-term girlfriend Anjali. They have two children.


Sundar completed his school education in Jawahar Vidhyalaya, a Central Board of Secondary Education school in Ashok Nagar, Chennai till class 10, After he completed his 12th class education from Vana Vani School at IIT Chennai. later, He enrolled in IIT Kharagpur and earned the degree in Metallurgical Engineering. He completed his Master of Science in Material sciences and Engineering from Stanford University. Then he completed his MBA from Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.


After completing his education, He worked in engineering and product management in Applied Materials. later he served as the management consultant at Mckinsey & company. In 2004, He joined the Google, where he had responsibility for product development new idea generation. Sundar played most important role in the development of Google Chrome. In 2009, He presented the Chrome OS and in 2011 launched Chromebook for research and development. 

On 10 August 2015, Larry announced to make Sundar Pichai as new CEO of Google. Pichai takes up the responsibilities.

  • His family did not own a car and television during his childhood.
  • He was the Captain of his High school cricket team.
