George Strait is an American Country Music Singer and Music Producer born on 18 May 1952, In Poteet, Texas, U.S.

Family Background:

He is the son of John Byron Strait and his wife Doris Couser. His father was Junior High school mathematics teacher. George has two siblings Brother John Jr and sister Pency. After his parents divorced George and his brother was raised by their father.

Personal Life:

In 1971, He married his high school girlfriend Norma. The couple has two children, a daughter, and son. His daughter died in an accident at the age of 13. He became a grandfather in 2012.

Education:

George attended the Pearsall High school, where He had played in Roll and Roll garage band. Later he joined the Southwest Texas State University, where he had received the degree in Agriculture.

Career:

While He had worked in the United State Army at Hawaii as a part of the 25th Infantry Division, He had started performing with an Army-sponsored band named “Rambling Country”, which had also performed off-base under the name “Santee”. While he pursuing his college he joined the band “Stoney Ridge”. Then he suddenly became the band leader and changed the band name as ‘Ace in the Hole’. His band performed all around South and central Texas and gained the local followers. Soon George got an opportunity to record many of the songs he had written, but those songs did not receive the wide recognition. In 1981,  After the year of struggle, He finally signed a solo contract with MCA records. After one year he released his first single “Unwound”, which became the top ten Hot Country songs. In the following decade, He had recorded 17 consequent No.1 including ‘Strait from the Heart’, ‘Does Fort Worth Ever Cross Your Mind’, ‘Something Special’, ‘Beyond the Blue Neon’, and many others. His tenth studio album ‘Livin’ It Up’ had been released in 1990, and highlighted two number one hits. He had followed with ‘Chill of an Early Fall’ in 1991 and ‘Holding My Own’ in 1992. He had released many other unique albums in the decade like, ‘Easy Come, Easy Go’, ‘Blue clear sky’, ‘Carrying your love with me’, and ‘One Step at a time’.
