Family Background:

He is the son of Louis and his wife Belle. His father was College professor, Double Bass player, and his mother was Elementary School Teacher. He has one sibling, Eddie Simon.

Personal Life:

Simon has been married three times in his life. first, he had married Peggy Harper in 1969. They divorced in 1975. They had one son, Harper Simon. In 1983, He had married actress and author Carrie Fisher. But they divorced in a year. Third, he had married singer Edie Brickell in 1992.

Education:

Simon and his brother had enrolled at Forest Hills High School and spent time together. After he entered Queens College and completed his graduation in 1963. He had been interested in Music rock and roll.

Career:

He had started his music career along with Garfunkel for an ‘Alice in Wonderland’ production at the age of eleven. Then they had started performing as a rock under the name “Tom and Jerry”. After some of the hit like ‘Our Song’, ‘That’s My Story’, and many others, In 1964, the duo had impressed the executive of Columbia records and instantly signed them for an album. Columbia recorded duo by their real name and on Wednesday Morning 3 A.M they had released their first long play, but that album had not been got more success. Later he had moved to Europe and there he collaborated with Bruce Woodley, who had the member of Australian rock “The Seekers”. With Bruce Woodley, they composed few songs like “Red Rubber Ball”, “I wish You Could Be Here”, and “Cloudy”. After he returned the US and worked with Tom Wilson and released its single named “The Sound of Silence” that album got more hits. Then He released its second volume “The Sound of Silence”. In 1970, Simon and Garfunkel had given their last album together named “Bridge Over Troubled Water”. In 1972, Simon had recorded a self-titled solo album like, “Mother and Child Reunion” and “Me and Julio Down by the Schoolyard”. In 1980, Simon had turned into filmmaking inspired by Woody Allen. Simon had written and starred in ‘One-Trick Pony’ movie. In 1982, Simon and Garfunkel together for free concert In New York’s Central Park. He had also a longtime association with TV show “Saturday Night Live”. He has appeared on this show about 15 times.
